Going Spotty

One of the trends for AW11 is Polka dots, which was seen at Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Gucci, and Louise Gray. This is always such a timeless trend which has been around many times before and predicted to come in again over the years. We saw Stella with applique spots, Marc mixed up the colours, Louise was madness and Gucci kept it sexy. It's always easy to transfer to the high street and definitely worth a good dig through those vintage stores as they're never short of spots!

Duchess of Cambridge...Not the "Style Icon" we were hoping for

Since becoming Duchess of Cambridge on the 29th April 2011, the whole world has watched to see what Kate will step out in next. She set the standards high as she emerged from her car to enter Westminster Abbey on that day, in a Sarah Burton design for Alexander Mcqueen and it really was the high fashion moment we were hoping for and were expecting many more along the way...wishful thinking on our behalf.
Her look is very conservative and only so many months on are people starting to question her "style icon" title. Vivienne Westwood recently said, "It seems to me, that her image is 'ordinary woman'. Therefore, High Street shopper. And I just think that she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from."

So it maybe that we were expecting a lot more from our future queen and if she continues dressing in her high street favourites Reiss and LK Bennett and safe choices from Erdem and Alexander Mcqueen (otherwise known for standout fashion moment designs) then she will soon fall off our radar...unless she hires a stylist!

I had a tumblr; I ended up just posting pictures. I want this blog to feature my views, opinions and reviews upon the fashion industry and maybe the odd outfit posting...maybe!!! I need somewhere to express myself!

I'm currently at University for the Creative Arts studying Fashion Management and Marketing at the Epsom campus. I graduate in 2012 so I'm currently thinking through options for after uni, scary!!

I work at French Connection in Knighstbridge part time and I've worked with the company since 2007 (starting in Nottingham, hometown).

I've interned with Jimmy Choo PR, Next Press Office, Burberry PR and Events, and PPQ so far and hope to expand upon this! I am now looking for internships in magazines (London and New York) as I have a big interest in styling and editorial work.

Enjoy...I guess?!!
